Gadsden Travel Bug Hotel

The Gadsden TB Hotel is only 1 mile off the I-759 interstate and is a quick easy find located in the James D. Martin Wildlife Park. The park is open from daylight until dark. The cache requires a 3300 ft walk on a good level path once you get into the parking lot @ 34.002 -86.023. For the short walk take the right trail. You will pass 3 other caches along the way on the trail and boardwalk. The park is handicap accessible with smooth level trails and a boardwalk over the water. The hotel is a duplicate of the famous Sertoma TB Hotel placed in Hoover Alabama back in 2004. See the FTF prize, a 2004 geocoin. The prize is not a grab and go. The lucky FTF guy or gal will have to work for it.

The hotel has five floors with 9 rooms for TB's and a large lobby for trading items. At the top you will see the Presidential Penthouse Suite. It is the largest room and is usually reserved for presidents, kings, queens, a duchess, a princess, or other royalty. However, if you want your TB to be royalty for a night check him or her into it. The logbook is also in the presidential suite. Rooms 2 and 3 are also oversized suites. Rooms 4 thru 8 are the ordinary suites for us commoners, but still roomy. When all rooms are full as they often are TB's may share a room if both are agreeable and/or compatible. Don't place a hound dog in with a fox. And of course, don't place your TB in with one of the opposite sex. This is a very respectable place, so please set a good example. DO NOT place a TB in the lobby, as it may be mistaken for a trade item and unintentionally walk away.

If TB's are not for you come on by anyway, you'll get a quick easy find and get to explore this fabulous wildlife park. The hotel lobby is chock full of trading items. The lobby trading area is large and always has quite a bit of treasure in it. The hotel lobby is for trade items only, and likewise the rooms are for TB's only. If you take a trade item from the lobby please leave an item.

Note to all Geocachers: Take a travel bug if you wish to move one to a new destination. Please don’t take all the TB’s. It's suggested you take only one and leave some for others. One final note, the cache is not covered, but it is camouflaged (for muggles) so as usual with camo caches, open your eyes.
